Anthony Rose, a brave member of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost his life on June 30 during the Yarnell Fire, was finally brought home on Wednesday evening. His remains arrived at Waukegan Regional Airport aboard a plane, accompanied by a fellow Hotshot, two U.S. Forest Service officers, and members of the Phoenix Fire Department honor guard. The solemn return marked the beginning of a heartfelt tribute to the fallen firefighter. Several photographs captured the moment of Anthony’s arrival, showing the respect and honor shown by those who gathered to pay their respects. Among the images were photos taken by Larry Shapiro and Tim Olk, highlighting the emotional atmosphere surrounding the event. In a moving ceremony attended by hundreds of local firefighters, members of the Axemen Motorcycle Club, local police, and many community members, Anthony’s ashes were presented to his family. Alongside the ashes was a flag that had been used during the memorial service in Phoenix, symbolizing the deep respect and gratitude from the fire community. Following the ceremony, a procession of police cars, motorcycles, and fire trucks escorted a limousine carrying Anthony's family to a funeral home in nearby Zion. The event reflected the unity and support from both the emergency services and the local community. More photos from the event can be viewed [here](#) and [here](#).
