Known as the “Island In The City,†Norwood Park Fire Protection District has just received their new #Velocity 100’ #AscendantTower. This advanced aerial ladder truck will significantly enhance their ability to respond to emergencies in the area’s many high-rise buildings. The mid-mount platform was specifically selected for its superior maneuverability and improved visibility, allowing firefighters to operate more effectively in tight urban environments.
Spanning 6.5 square miles and serving a population of over 25,000 residents, the district handles around 4,000 emergency calls annually. With this new apparatus, they're better equipped to protect their community and respond quickly to incidents.
