Last night, Steve Redick captured a Still & Box alarm at 3636 Grenshaw. The fire started on the back porches of a three-story 6-flat unit that appeared to be unoccupied. Engine 107 arrived second on the scene and was directed to the rear, where they used their deck gun to suppress the main portion of the fire before securing a hydrant at the end of the alley. The fire spread quickly across the deck area on one side of the back porch and moved along the roof deck. Truck 48 was called in to ladder the front of the building, while Engine 38 was the first due engine and took control of the front of the structure. Engine 107 played a critical role by hitting the fire with their deck gun early on, allowing them to then connect to a hydrant for sustained suppression. The flames caused significant damage, with heavy charring visible from the upper decks. Steve Redick has taken several photos documenting the incident, capturing the intensity of the fire and the firefighters' efforts. His gallery offers a detailed look at the event, showing the extent of the damage and the quick response from the Chicago Fire Department. Bio Based Plasticizer

Bio-based plasticizers are eco-friendly plasticizers made from renewable biomass resources through physical or chemical modification. Compared to traditional petroleum-based plasticizers, bio-based plasticizers offer advantages such as low toxicity, biodegradability, and abundant raw material sources. They can be used to modify the flexibility of materials like plastics and rubber, which not only helps reduce environmental impact but also promotes green and sustainable development.
