PPGI/PPGL(prepainted galvanized steel/prepainted galvalume steel ) is also known as pre-coated steel, color coated steel, coil coated steel, color coated steel, prepainted steel sheet. The PPGI steel coil/sheet made of cold-rolled steel sheet and Galvanized Steel Sheet, subjected to surface pretreatment (degreasing, cleaning, chemical conversion treatment), coated in a continuous manner, and baked and cooled to form a product. Coated steel has light weight, beautiful appearance and good anti-corrosion performance, and can be directly processed.
Color coated steel coil is mainly divided into three parts: construction, household appliances and transportation. Building is generally used to build the roof, wall and door of industrial and commercial buildings such as steel structure workshop, airport, warehouse and freezer. Household appliances are used in the production of refrigerators and large air conditioning systems, freezers, toasters, furniture, etc. Transportation industry is mainly used for oil pan, automobile interior parts, etc.
PPGI is a product made of cold-rolled steel coil and (aluminum) Galvanized Steel Coil after surface chemical treatment, coating (roll coating) or composite organic film (PVC film, etc.), and then baking and curing. This product is produced by the manufacturer in coils on the continuous production line, so it is also called prepainted steel coil. It not only has the properties of high mechanical strength and easy forming of steel materials, but also has good decoration and corrosion resistance of coating materials.

A major fire broke out just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Echo Lake Foods facility, located at 33102 South Honey Lake Road in Burlington, Wisconsin. The incident has escalated rapidly, with the fire now entering its 13th hour and still not under control. According to NBC TMJ4, the blaze has triggered an eight-alarm response, involving over 80 fire departments and more than 200 firefighters from across southeastern Wisconsin, including teams from as far as Milwaukee County.
The facility, which has been a key employer in the area since its founding in 1941, processes a wide range of egg-based products, including pre-cooked egg entrees, French toast, pancakes, crepes, scrambled eggs, frozen liquid eggs, waffles, and mini pancakes. Due to the nature of the business, the plant stores large quantities of ammonia and liquid oxygen, both of which pose significant hazards during a fire.
Emergency crews were quickly on the scene, and the building was successfully evacuated without any reported injuries to employees or firefighters. However, due to the intensity of the fire, crews have had limited access to the structure and have largely been operating in a defensive mode. Fire Chief Richard Lodle emphasized that the situation remains critical and that crews are working to contain the flames while ensuring public safety.
Local authorities have evacuated 10 homes and an apartment building, relocating approximately 50 people. The fire department is also coordinating with hazardous materials teams to manage the risks posed by the chemical storage on-site.
Despite the challenges, officials remain committed to helping the company rebuild and reopen as soon as possible. “This will affect the city greatly,†said one official during a press briefing. “We will attempt to help them rebuild and re-open the plant as soon as possible.â€
The fire has drawn attention from multiple media outlets, including the Chicago Tribune, ABC News, MyRacineCounty.com, Fox6Now.com, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which have all published detailed reports and visuals from the scene.
Due to the size of the fire and the extreme cold, emergency responders faced difficult conditions, with water supply being a major challenge. Tankers had to shuttle water to portable tanks, and multiple drafting operations were set up to support the firefighting efforts. At times, master streams had to be shut down as the water supply was depleted before it could be refilled.
For those interested in seeing the full scope of the incident, there are several articles and videos available online. Tim Olk and Larry Shapiro arrived at the scene about four hours after the initial alarm and captured footage and images that will be released later. Their access was limited due to the hazardous smoke and extreme weather conditions.
As the fire continues to burn, the community remains on edge, hoping for updates on the situation and the eventual containment of the blaze.
