Firefighters and law enforcement began searching the area starting around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, continuing until 2 a.m. on Wednesday. They resumed efforts from 8 a.m. to about 8 p.m. on Wednesday. At 1:55 p.m., an update was issued stating that county dive team members were called out to the Silver Lake village boat launch for a non-emergency response.
