This is a message from Asher Heimermann:
Last Friday, I found myself in Indianapolis attending FDIC International, which is known as the world's largest firefighter training conference and exhibition. It was an incredible experience, and I managed to capture some really interesting photos while I was there.

Attached below are some of the photos I took during the event. The first image shows a firefighter training prop that caught my attention. It’s a great example of the kind of equipment firefighters use to practice their skills.

The next picture is another firefighter training prop, showcasing the kind of tools and techniques used to simulate real-life scenarios.

Following that, here’s a shot of a fire truck on display at the trade show. It’s an impressive piece of machinery, designed to handle various emergency situations.

Another angle of the same fire truck, highlighting its unique features and design elements.

One of the highlights of the event was the massive FDIC setup inside the Lucas Oil Stadium. The scale of the exhibition was truly breathtaking.

Switching gears now, Larry Shapiro had something to add about the recent FDIC. Initially, he mentioned that the new squad for Montgomery & Countryside was the only northern Illinois rig showcased this year. However, he later realized that he had overlooked the new engine for Mokena displayed at the Alexis booth. Many thanks to Josh for pointing this out!
Here’s a picture of the new Alexis engine for Mokena, taken at the 2015 FDIC.

One of the standout vehicles at the Rosenbauer booth was undoubtedly this impressive fire engine. Its design and features made it a real showstopper.
Moving on, the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Engine 3 featured a touching tribute to the 343 FDNY members who lost their lives on 9/11/01. This engine carried a poignant memorial, honoring those heroes.

The black striping running throughout the rig was etched with the names of all 343 FDNY members who perished on that tragic day. It was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by these brave individuals.

Finally, here’s another view of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Engine 3, capturing the intricate details of its design and the meaningful tribute it carries.

Overall, FDIC International was an unforgettable event, filled with learning opportunities and inspiring displays. If you’re involved in firefighting or public safety, it’s definitely worth checking out if you get the chance!
