John Tulipano sent over some updates regarding the Carol Stream Fire Department. He mentioned that they’ve renumbered their stations as part of the DuPage Fire Alliance initiative. Here’s what’s changed: - Station 1 is now Station 28. - Station 2 is now Station 29. - Station 3 is now Station 27. He also shared photos of the new rigs, including Engine 29 and Tower Ladder 28, both of which are brand new additions. Additionally, he provided images of Squad 27 and 27a, now sporting their updated numbers. I’ve added some images below for reference. First up is the Carol Stream Fire District Tower Ladder 29. This 2011 E-One Cyclone model features a powerful 2,000-gallon-per-minute (GPM) pump, 200 gallons of onboard water storage, and a 95-foot tower ladder. The photo was taken by John Tulipano. Next is the Carol Stream Engine 29, a 2011 model built on a Spartan chassis. It boasts a 1,500-GPM pump and carries 500 gallons of water. Again, this image is courtesy of John Tulipano. For the Squad units, here’s the 2006 Alexis-built Squad 27, also mounted on a Spartan chassis. It has a 1,500-GPM pump and can hold 750 gallons of water. John captured this one too. Finally, there’s the 2010 Alexis Squad 27A, another Spartan chassis-based vehicle. This rig doesn’t have a specific pump or water capacity listed, but it’s clearly equipped for the job. Once more, thanks to John Tulipano for sharing these excellent photos. This renumbering project seems to be part of an ongoing effort to streamline operations across multiple fire districts in the area. I’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and updates from John.
