So this is something that came up recently related to a historical fire incident in Chicago back in 1974. It's a follow-up from Steve Redick concerning a rent post about the Chicago 5-11 alarm fire at 1520 S Indiana Avenue.
A while ago, I shared some information on this topic, but now I’ve received some new details to pass along. Chuck Bleck, an old-time fan who was working in the insurance field at the time, put together an incredibly detailed diagram of the fire. He was super generous and shared it with me. Along with that, he also sent over a copy of the report from the fire that appeared in Turnout magazine, plus some other interesting materials from the Chicago Fire Department (CFD).
