Development and Reform Commission: Tire production increased by 5.3% in August

The National Development and Reform Commission announced the operation of chemical industry in August 2014. In August, the output of rubber tires in the country increased by 5.3%. From January to August, the output of tires made of rubber tires was 732,320, an increase of 6.4%.

According to statistics, in August, the value added of the chemical industry increased by 8.7% year-on-year, and the growth rate slowed down by 3.9 percentage points year-on-year. Among the main products, ethylene production increased by 14.2% year-on-year; output of primary forms of plastics, synthetic rubber, and synthetic fibers increased by 14.9%, 11.5%, and 3.7% respectively; output of rubber tires increased by 5.3%.

From January to August, the added value of the chemical industry increased by 10.9% year-on-year, which was a year-on-year slowdown of 1 percentage point. Among the main products, ethylene production was 11.41 million tons, an increase of 7.1%. The primary form of plastic production was 45.56 million tons, an increase of 12.1%; synthetic rubber production was 3.41 million tons, an increase of 11.4%; and synthetic fiber production was 26.13 million tons, an increase of 7.2%. The output of tires made of rubber tires was 732,320, an increase of 6.4%.
