Hybrid water source linkage air conditioning new technology was born
The heating and cooling technology developed by the Tianjin Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources has made significant progress through the integration of air-conditioning systems. This innovation enables the effective reuse of low-grade energy sources such as industrial wastewater, urban sewage, and geothermal drainage. By utilizing these otherwise wasted resources, the system offers a sustainable solution for both heating and cooling needs.
This hybrid water-source linkage air conditioning technology works by using low-temperature energy from sources like industrial wastewater, municipal sewage, or geothermal discharge as the heat and cold source for the air conditioning system. At the core of this system is the water-source heat pump, which extracts thermal energy to provide heating in winter and cooling in summer.
In practice, a central heating and cooling station is constructed near a building or facility that requires climate control. Two underground water reservoirs are used: one stores hot water for heating purposes, while the other holds cooler water for cooling. When needed, the heat pump can draw from either reservoir, depending on whether heating or cooling is required. This flexible approach ensures efficient energy use and reduces dependency on traditional power sources.
According to reports, this technology only requires a small amount of electricity to operate, eliminating the need for conventional polluting fuels. As a result, it is considered a clean, environmentally friendly solution that not only reduces carbon emissions but also promotes the recycling and efficient use of water resources. With its ability to harness waste heat and reduce energy consumption, this system represents a major step forward in green building and sustainable energy management.
