It is understood that the installation platform of the LNG ship enclosure system is a working platform for workers to install the enclosure system at all levels in the LNG ship cargo tank. The requirements for installation combination accuracy, force calculation and overall quality control are very high. When Hudong Zhonghua built the first five LNG ships, its installation system for the enclosure system was based on Italian patent technology, and the cost of patent introduction was high. Moreover, the installation platform designed by Italy has obvious defects, and there are more than 1000 drawings and modification orders. Hudong Zhonghua also spent a lot of manpower and resources to modify it.
At the same time, the structure of the platform is complex, and it is necessary to carry out “tailoring” and special design according to different LNG ships. Since the opening of the first batch of LNG vessels, the Hudong Zhonghua Assembly 2 Department of Enclosure Systems has continuously summed up experience and carried out in-depth design and development of the platform. Since the design and development of the ExxonMobil/Merchant Mitsui LNG ship project started in June 2010, Hudong Zhonghua designers have adopted overall layout design, partial optimization design, patent avoidance design, module division, structural detail design and strength calculation. Etc., completed the drawing of more than 1,500 drawings, and obtained the design patent for the installation platform of the LNG ship enclosure system.
Shen Jie, deputy chief of the Hudong Zhonghua Assembly 2 Department of Enclosures, who participated in the design work, said: "We have improved the design details of the corner areas of the platform and optimized the design of 10 functional areas such as diagonal support legs and girders. In design development, designers must not only consider the metal strength of the part, but also ensure that the weight of each part is accurate to gram. The installation platform of a ship's enclosure system has 72,000 structures, each of which is composed of several parts. If each part is overweight, the total weight of the installation platform will reach several tens of tons. To this end, the designer will weigh the parts to the nearest gram, ensuring the finest work. In addition, the shipowner required the installation platform to maintain a 200 mm spacing from the bulkhead. After optimization design, the platform design finally met the requirements of the shipowner and won the praise of the shipowner.
