Town Jinling Iron Mine Investment Tailings Dry Reactor System Officially Put into Use

Recently, the tailings dry stacking system at Jinling Iron Mine in Caiyuan Town, Qian'an City, was officially put into operation after an investment of 15 million yuan. This innovative system has proven to deliver a win-win outcome by enhancing safe production, reducing energy consumption, and minimizing resource waste. The system works by first concentrating the tailings slurry from the ore processing stage, then using advanced dehydration equipment like filter presses or ceramic filters to separate water from the sediment. After further treatment, two types of sand—construction sand and farmland sand—can be produced. The separated water is then recycled for reuse in the mining process. This project not only reduces the costs associated with building and maintaining traditional tailings ponds but also frees up valuable land space. It significantly lowers the safety risks posed by conventional tailings dams and improves the efficiency of water recycling and resource utilization. These benefits contribute greatly to the protection of groundwater resources and support broader environmental conservation efforts. It is reported that the mine plans to apply this dry stacking technology to restore the old tailings pond into farmland and develop a thousand-acre chestnut orchard. The goal is to create a more sustainable, eco-friendly, and energy-efficient mining environment, aligning with modern green development principles.
