Here's a throwback post from Larry Shapiro for #TBT:

Take a look at some photos from a 3-11 alarm fire and EMS Plan 1 that took place on December 6, 2001, at 4344 N. Winchester. These images capture a moment in time when many of the apparatus seen here were brand new. Today, most of them are either retired or in reserve status. One of the shots shows all three LTI tower ladders in excellent condition, which was pretty rare back then. Squad 2 and Tower 5 were less than a year old at the time, making them relatively new additions to the fleet.

It's fascinating to see how much has changed over the years. These photos not only document an event but also serve as a historical record of the Chicago Fire Department's equipment from more than two decades ago. The attention to detail in these images really brings the past to life. Thanks for sharing, Larry!
