This is from Scott Peterson:

I came across this accident just a few minutes after it occurred yesterday. The incident took place on Randall Road in front of Biaggi’s Restaurant.

There isn’t much information available yet, but it looks like the driver was heading northbound when they veered into the southbound lanes about two blocks before the crash. They hit a Light pole, a tree, and then slammed into the large restaurant sign. The driver became trapped in the vehicle, and it took emergency crews roughly 20 minutes to extricate them.

A flight-for-life unit was requested, but it wasn’t available due to poor weather conditions. Despite the challenges, the local fire and rescue teams responded quickly and efficiently.

Algonquin Fire Department units involved included Engine 142, Engine 141, Ambulance 142, Ambulance 141, and Shift Command 130.

Great job by all the crews on scene—very professional and timely response!
