The two stations of the **Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District** in Division 3 were updated last year, but initially had several empty placeholders for apparatus that hadn't been added yet. Since then, the department has received a new piece of equipment: a **2009 Pierce Arrow XT engine**, which is now fully represented in the station listings.
Station 20 currently houses a variety of units, including two ambulances, two engines, a ladder truck, a rescue squad, a battalion chief vehicle, and a utility unit (not shown). The engine currently labeled as **Engine 20R** is a **1991 Pierce Arrow**, which is serving as the backup while the department works on the paint and bodywork for their pair of **2002 Pierce Dash** engines.
These two 2002 models—**Engine 19** and the one that will eventually become **Engine 20R**—are essentially sister units. They are being sent out for body work one at a time. Once both are back in service, the **1991 Pierce Arrow** will be sold, and the previously assigned **2002 Pierce Dash** will take over the **Engine 20R** designation.
Recent photos from Larry Shapiro show the newest arrival, the **2009 Pierce Arrow XT**, which is now stationed at Station 20. Another image highlights the **2002 Pierce Dash** that's currently undergoing repairs and will soon transition to Engine 20R. A third photo shows the **1991 Pierce Arrow** that’s acting as a backup until the newer units are ready. These updates reflect the ongoing efforts to maintain and modernize the fleet while ensuring continued operational readiness.
