Application:

Film Test:
The test specimen is clamped between the upper and lower chambers. The upper chamber is purged with high-humidity nitrogen, while the lower chamber is purged with dry nitrogen. Due to the difference in water concentration on either side of the film, water molecules pass through the specimen into the dry nitrogen side. These molecules are then carried to the electrolytic sensor, which generates a proportional signal. This allows the calculation of the water vapor transmission rate.
Package Test:
For package testing, the package is mounted on the lower chamber. The outside of the package is set to a specific relative humidity, while the inside is purged with dry nitrogen. Water vapor passes through the package wall into the inside, where it is carried to the electrolytic sensor, generating a proportional signal. The water vapor transmission rate is then calculated from this signal.
