About two months ago, Delfast first announced the start of development on a new three-wheeled electric cargo bike called Trike, as part of a grant from USAID's "Competitive Economy of Ukraine" (KEU) program.

Today, the electric bike brand is sharing the technical specs of this upcoming model. According to Delfast’s Chief Engineer, Serhiy Honcharov, the Trike features a fully built electric frame with a rear motor of 750W and a 48V 40Ah lithium battery. It also includes Wellgo pedals, a crankset, and lights.

The e-bike is completely waterproof, making it easy to clean and reducing maintenance needs. This feature makes it ideal for use in all weather conditions.

The image above shows the frame of the electric bike, which has already been tested in CAD software. This isn’t a 3D model — it’s a real-life prototype of the future Trike with specified materials and manufacturing technologies. “We run simulations based on this frame, test different loads, check the overall weight, and install other components using software,” says Honcharov. The engineering team is currently in the design phase.

The Trike can travel up to 120 km (75 miles) on a single charge, making it an excellent transportation solution for small businesses and independent entrepreneurs. It’s designed specifically for these users, helping them deliver goods to hard-to-reach areas that traditional transport might not easily access.

Additionally, the Trike can carry up to 300 kg (660 lbs) of cargo. Almost anything can be transported using this electric trike. Even if you're not planning to ride through rugged terrain, the Trike can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h (25 mph) when needed.
